2023 BMW X5 facelift launched in India at Rs 93.9 lakh: Gets two engine options, 0-100 kph in 5.4 seconds!

German Automaker BMW today launched the facelifted BMW X5 SUV to the Indian market. The new X5 is available in two petrol and two diesel variants and the price for the SUV starts from Rs 93.9 lakh and goes up to Rs 1.06 crores. The new X5 will be locally produced at the BMW Group Plant in Chennai and will be available at all BMW India dealerships.

The new facelifted BMW X5 features an illuminated BMW kidney grille with matrix Adaptive LED headlamps with blue accents. The SUV gets roof rails with satin aluminium trim accents all around. At the back, it gets L-shaped LED taillamps with an X motif embedded inside. The SUV gets 21-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels as standard across all variants. Customers can also opt for the M Sport package which adds multiple M badges around the car and front apron with an M-specific design. It gets roof rails painted in black high gloss with a trapezoidal exhaust tailpipe.

The interior of the new X5 features a curved single-glass surface for the infotainment system and instrumental cluster. The SUV gets an ambient light bar with a crystalline surface with LED backlighting integrated below the trim element in the front passenger area. The touchscreen infotainment system measures 14.9 inches and features connected car tech, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and the Harman Kardon music system.

Other features include ventilated and electric front seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, cruise control, parking and reverse assistant, surround view camera, drive recorder and remote parking.
BMW is also offering an M-Sport package for the interior, this trim gets M-Sport seats, M-specific leather steering wheel, M headliner anthracite, M footrest and pedal covers, M-specific keys, M Door entry sills and leather ‘Merino’ upholstery.
The new X5 will be available in two engine options – a 3.0 litre, six-cylinder turbo petrol engine which puts out 381 hp of power and 520 Nm of torque. BMW claims this engine can take the SUV from 0-100 kph in just 5.4 seconds.
Another engine is the 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine which produces 286 hp of power and 650 Nm of torque. BMW claims this engine can take the SUV from 0-100 kph in just 6.1 seconds. Additionally, both engines get a 48V electrical motor with 12 hp and 200 Nm of torque.

Both engine comes paired with an eight-speed step tronic automatic transmission which sends power to all four wheels. The SUV also gets Comfort, Efficient, Sport and Sport Plus driving modes.
Other features include electronically controlled differential locks, traction control, hill start assist, hill descent control, two-axle air suspension, six airbags, stability control, cornering brake control, electric parking brake with Auto hold, Isofix mounts and more.
