Coldplay are preparing to perform at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 June, as part of their Music Of The Spheres world tour.
The multi-award-winning rock band come hot on the heels of Beyoncé who opened the UK leg of her Renaissance tour at the 74,500 capacity event space less than three weeks ago.
Led by Chris Martin, the band are known for their anthemic songs and light displays during their live shows and this huge open-air event is expected to be no different.
The sell-out show has been lauded for its green credentials, which claims to have the world’s first tourable battery system, kinetic dance floors that mean fans help power the show, and power bikes.
The major tour, which takes in a whopping 123 shows across North and South America, Asia and Europe, is also 100 per cent powered by renewable energy in almost all locations.
For each ticket sold, a tree is planted, and fans have been encouraged to travel to the gig by green transport.
Practising what he preaches, Martin was also spotted alighting a train at Cardiff Central station this morning, with a railway worker capturing the covert star casually strolling along the platform.

The gates at Principality Stadium open to the public at 5pm with Coldplay expected to start performing around 8:30pm with the show finishing approximately two hours later.

The support acts performing ahead of Coldplay are Welsh singer Hana Lili, followed by Glaswegian synth-pop group Chvrches.
