DHARAMSHALA: The winter session of Himachal Pradesh Assembly will begin from Tuesday at Tapovan in Dharamshala. Before the Lok Sabha elections, political heat will be seen in Dharamshala for the next five days. For the session, a total of 471 questions have been received from then MLAs from ruling and the opposition sides, out of which 348 questions are starred and 123 are unstarred, which have been sent to the government for further action as per rules.
Apart from this, 4 notices under Rule 62, one notice under Rule 63, 10 notices under Rule 101, 12 notices under Rule 130, which also include 2 notices postponed from the previous session have been received.
Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania while addressing a press conference on Monday, regarding the winter session, said that this session will continue till December 23 and there will be a total of 5 meetings. He said that December 21st has been designated as Non-Official Members Working Day and the session will also be held on Saturday, December 23.
He said that in order to strengthen the security of the Legislative Assembly in view of the monsoon session, a meeting was organized with senior officials of District Kagada on December 4, in which necessary instructions were issued to the officials. He said that instructions were also given to officials to ensure transportation, security and parking arrangements.
Apart from this, instructions were given especially to the officials of Public Works Department and Public Works Department (Electricity) to complete the ongoing repair and developmental works in the Legislative Assembly Secretariat and its premises on time, which has now been completed. He said that entry into the Assembly premises will be available only to those who will be issued an official pass from the Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
Kuldeep Pathania has requested the members of the ruling party and the opposition to raise only the issues related to public interest in the House and while respecting the traditions and dignity of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, they should remain within the ambit of the rules and raise issues related to public interest.
He also held the all-party meeting in his office room and appealed to the ruling party, opposition and independent MLAs to provide constructive cooperation in the conduct of the winter session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mohan Lal Brakta, MLA Sukhram Chaudhary and Independent MLA Hoshiar Singh were present in this meeting.
Pathania said that he will try his best to give everyone a chance to express their views so that the time of the House is spent in meaningful and practical discussions.
