NIA summons Islamic scholar in terror funding case | India News

SRINAGAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday summoned renowned Islamic scholar and Dar-ul-Uloom Rahimya in Bandipora, Moulana Rehmatullah Mir Qasmi, for questioning in connection with a terror funding case.
“It appears that you are acquainted with the facts of this case. You are hereby directed to report at NIA camp office Church Lane, Sonwar, Srinagar, for the purpose of answering certain questions related to the case,” read the summon.
Qasmi appeared at the NIA office following the order.
The agency is probing the case under IPC sections 120B and 153A, and sections 10, 13 and 22C of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 regarding fundraising in Jammu and Kashmir and using the money for unlawful activities aimed at radicalising youth in the region, an official said.
