Polo Gti: Volkswagen Polo GTi Edition 25 revealed: Limited to just 2,500 units

German carmaker Volkswagen has unveiled Volkswagen Polo GTi Edition 25 hatchback. This edition is limited to only 2,500 units and this special model is introduced to commemorate the nameplate completing 25 years. The bookings for the Polo GTi Edition 25 will start from June 1st and the price starts from €35000 (about Rs 31 lakh at current exchange rates).

The Polo GTi is the sportier version of the Polo hatchback and was first introduced in 1998. Since then the Polo GTi has been a popular hot hatchback across the globe. The GTi Edition 25 gets cosmetic changes with additional features.

The Edition 25Polo GTi looks identical to the regular GTi except for body graphics all around with 18-inch blacked-out Adelaide alloy wheels. The hatchback gets sleek LED headlamps with DRLs and at the rear, it features a spoiler, LED taillamps, and twin exhaust tips with the diffuser.

The interior too is identical to the regular GTi but Edition 25 gets black and red leather upholstery and door sill plates with “one of 2,500” badging. The flat-bottom steering wheel gets a “25” logo instead of GTi lettering. Features include a digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system, engine start-stop button, automatic climate control, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, steering-mounted controls and many more.

Talking about the engine and gearbox, the Polo GTi Edition 25 gets a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged Petrol engine carried over from the standard Polo GTi which outs of 204 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The Volkswagen Polo GTi Edition 25 additionally gets a sportier suspension with adaptive dampers which sits 15 mm lower compared to the standard GTi and it also gets an electronic locking differential.
