Simple Energy today commenced deliveries of the Simple One electric scooter in the Indian market. The company plans to facilitate deliveries in a phased manner starting from Bengaluru. Priced at Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru), Simple One has received over 1,00,000 bookings, confirms the brand.
Powered by a 5 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Simple One e-scooter offers a claimed IDC range of 212 km (with 6 percent SOC left), making it the longest electric two-wheeler in India. The battery powers a magnet motor that churns out a peak power of 8.5 kW and a max torque of 72 Nm. Simple Energy claims that the One e-scooter accelerates from 0-40 kmph in 2.77 seconds and has a top speed of 105 kmph.
Using a portable charger, the battery can be charged from 0-80% in 5 hours 54 minutes. The electric scooter can be charged up to 80 percent at 1.5 km/minute through a fast charger.

Moving on to the features, Simple One gets a 7.0-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lighting, 12-inch alloy wheels, and more. Eco, Ride, Dash, and Sonic are four ride modes available on the electric scooter. The boot capacity is 30 litres. Featuring a tubular steel chassis, suspension duties on the Simple One are handled by a front telescopic fork and a rear mono shock unit. For braking, it gets a 200mm front disc and a 190mm rear disc.

Simple Energy plans to expand its retail operations to 40-50 cities through a network of 160-180 retail stores. Early this year, the company inaugurated its new manufacturing plant, Simple Vision 1.0 in Shoolagiri, Tamil Nadu, which has an installed annual capacity of approximately 10 lakhs units.
